The Lovely borough of Collegeville, PA is a Beautiful growing town.

It’s one of the well kept secrets in the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region of the state. This information should be almost classified.

It contains the best of many worlds.  It has a sort of small town, rural country feel, yet its 5 minutes away from every big city convenience you can wish for. Its 25 minutes from Philadelphia.

The nationally famous Collegeville Inn, which was one of the top Smorgasbords in the country, is now closed. However, with the opening of the gorgeous Providence Town Center, fine dining is not far away. Providence Town Center is now indeed the “Center” of Collegeville. It is a 758,000 sq ft. Lifestyle center.  There are multitudes of high quality restaurants available for your eating convenience, along with the Movie Tavern, where you can have dinner and a movie. It contains dozens of fine shops, to meet almost any need. There is much more than just shopping there. There are health clinics & Rehab facilities, La Fitness, entertainment, and beautiful Wegmans Supermarket to finish off your trip there. With the abundance of available parking, one almost feels like a VIP whenever they visit. There is never a feeling of congestion. With the assortment of services and amenities grouped into one area, the planners of this center were simply genius. There is no other place like it.

However, if your shopping needs are not met there, you are just 7 minutes away from the largest shopping mall on the East Coast, The King Of Prussia Mall. KOP, as it is called, is currently the second largest mall in the United States, however, still the Largest in the US as far as “dedicated retail space,” which is what really matters. Parking lots and walk ways don’t count. For years it was the largest in the world, but Dubai owns that distinction now.

But before you fly to Dubai, you can drive 10 minutes west on 422 to The Philadelphia Premium Outlets which is a 553,000-square-foot open-air outlet mall located in Limerick Township, which contains more than a 150 stores and eateries. No toll or passports needed to get there. Collegeville sits as a diamond in the middle of all of this.

Collegeville is a beautiful blend of rural farm lands, suburban residences with lots of streams, rivers and lush greenery throughout. Great blue Herons can be seen gliding along the rivers and streams, or standing still in the water as they fish. Occasionally, if you are fortunate you will see a hawk that makes a kill. There are many picnic areas, Jogging and bicycle trails for your fitness needs, and so much more available.

Surrounded by, Phoenixville, a jewel of its own, the historic Valley Forge National Park, Trappe, Evansburg State park, Skippack & Audubon Villages and more, this area has an embarrassment of riches. Yet, it is so close to one of the major metropolitan areas of the nation.

It’s one of the best places to live and raise a family in the country.  There are many wonderful schools in Collegeville, from K-12 grade, both public and private. It is also the home of the Historic and Prestigious Ursinus College, one of the best in the nation. They have been providing high quality education for almost 150 years.

There are also quite a few major industries right here in Collegeville. DOW Chemicals, Pharmaceutical Companies; Wyeth labs & Glaxosmithkline along with other companies are all major employers.

Your health needs are covered here in Collegeville. The brand new Landing of Collegeville, a senior living facility just opened a few months ago. A Patient first Emergency Care Center opened July of 2017.  Collegeville is surrounded by Phoenixville Hospital 5 minutes away, The New State of the art Einstein Medical Center is 10 minutes away, or Pottstown Memorial Medical Center 12 minutes away. If that is not sufficient for your health needs, Philadelphia which is a mecca of healthcare with 25 major hospitals is 30 minutes away.

Collegeville, Pennsylvania, was initially known as Freeland and Developed primarily in the 1800s following the completion of the Perkiomen Bridge in 1799. It was named after several early colleges, including Freeland Seminary and the Pennsylvania Female College. Both were succeeded by Ursinus College.
